What do you write your stories on?
I switch between my laptop and my various notebooks

What is your favorite kind of character?
The unusual ones, with quirks or tragic stories. The really strong ones. And I also admire the ones who are what they are and proud to be it (unlike many tomboy characters)

When you're asked what your story is about, what is your usual reaction?
Embarrassment. Know what I mean?

What is your biggest writing pet peeve?
I don't know. There are so many! Probably de-inspiration. Or all the technical stuff that has to go with publishing.

What is the biggest turn-off for you when reading a book?
Immorality and unoriginality. And stupid characters.

Your favorite era in history?
Uh...ancients, medieval, revolutionary war, and modern. =)

How many words on average do you punch out in one sitting?
It really depends. 3--2,000

Are you a fast typist?
Oh, yes.

What do you do for inspiration?
Pray. Sit outside. Feel the wind. Dance in the rain.

Fantasy

Century at 14.

Just write. Okaaaay...

Pens

Very, very many. Right now...ten?

Have you ever tried writing something outside your usual genre?
Modern fiction, science fiction, short stories, historical fiction...pretty much everything.

Sometimes all you can do is laugh...

Ha-ha-ha. Galdor figured out that he can climb out of his crib. Know what that means? A two year old running around downstairs at 5:30 AM? Parties with Luthien in the middle of the night? No nap-time? Yes! Oh, isn't this so funny? I'm just laughing my head off!

But really. Sometimes all you can do is laugh at what life gives you. Galdor's so sweet, I'd rather have him then my sanity. HAH-HA-HA-HAH!

Maybe I'll laugh at the poison ivy on my foot. I must have just brushed a plant, because it's just on my ankle. Usually it goes all the way up to my neck. But at least it's not in between my fingers...now that is torture.

Dad's bump turned out to be benign! Now if only his PET-scan tomorrow has the same results. (Please Lord, please Lord, please Lord, please Lord...)

Safety Tip

Because I care about you guys, here is a warning that a friend forwarded to us. Please read and be on the alert; sin is an unfortunate but very real thing.

"While driving on a rural end of the roadway on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car-seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Canton PD and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out there to check....

"There are several things to be aware of ... gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women)to stop their vehicle and get out of the car.

"There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police Department where gangs are placing a car-seat by the road...with a fake baby in
it...waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby.

"Note that the location of this car-seat is usually beside a wooded or grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it's a man, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too.

DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!!

DIAL 9-1-1
AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON'T EVEN SLOW DOWN.

"IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSHIELD, DO NOT STOP TO CHECK THE CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPER AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED

By the way, would you guys please pray for VBS? There are several kids in particular you could pray about. Two or three have really bad food allergies, so if everyone could pray that none of them has a reaction, that would be great. Also, there are some kids who are not Christians, so praying that their classmates and teachers (and food staff!) can reach out and witness to them.

Oh, one more prayer request! Our movie is starting to slide downhill. We are all seriously stuck for ideas, and we're not entirely convinced it's the best use of our time. Please pray that we can make a final decision about it.

Thank you! Seriously, it would take such a load off my mind if you guys prayed.

Hi, everyone!

I'm back! Duh! I really enjoyed my break--it was a lot easier than I expected. I actually got back on Sunday, but I didn't post because I didn't have time. Monday was our first day of VBS at our church!

Our theme: Outer Space

Last year, I helped out with the 2 & 3 yr old class. If you have ever been inside a small room with twelve toddlers having meltdowns, then you know how I felt. Actually, all the kids were really cute (when they weren't crying) and two in particular were very good (one actually started crying because I wasn't in the room. It made me feel loved =) She was very attached to me.) I know that under normal circumstances they're very sweet, but I think even I would cry if I suddenly got dumped into a room with strange grown-ups without my mother. =)

So this year I am helping in the kitchen. One of my friends is in there too, as well as his mom, so it's an atmosphere where I'm comfortable. I washed dishes and chopped up fruit and cheese and poured drinks and served people food. It wasn't stressful, and I was kept busy the whole time. Perfect.

Post Script: On a side note, my father had his lump removed last Wednesday. We still don't know the results, but the doctors are pretty convinced it's just a cyst. Praise God, and thank you everyone for praying. Also, praise God for a near-emergency's safe resolution at VBS.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday afternoon. This post is just a short heads-up...

I'm taking a blogging break for an indefinite amount of time.

DON'T FREAK OUT!

I will be back, but I don't know when. It could be three days from now, or a couple of weeks, or even a month, or longer.

Lately, the Lord has used several tools to convict me of a bunch of things. My relationship with Him. My relationship with my family. My attitude. My habit of putting things off. How far I'm getting behind in my chores and everything.

So I'm taking a break from all things on the Internet until I fix those things.

I love you guys, and I'll really miss you during my break, but I realize that if I don't fix things when I've got the time, I definitely won't be able to when school (and high school! *gasp*) starts up.
