Christmas Aftermath and Tag

I think I've had too much sugar. How do I know? My immune system must be completely shot. I've been sick basically since Kara's birthday. And I was trying so hard not to have anything sweet today, but what did we have for breakfast? Christmas bread. Of course. Stuffed with candied fruit and sugar.

And of course, the Christmas candy is calling to me. All those lonely m'n'ms and chocolate coins... But I figure that now is probably going to be the only time in life I'll ever be happy with my weight, so I keep on plugging my ears and and avoiding going into my bedroom.

It's going to be incredibly hard getting back into schoolwork after Christmas break is over. I think I'm getting used to sitting in front of the computer lazily. However, I'm forcing myself to study biology...because...

...well, I didn't get the test done before Christmas break.

Thankfully, my dad is my biology teacher (there are definitely advantages to being home schooled) so he knows how hectic and crazy my life is, and he gives me mercy. He knows that I really don't like the stress of not meeting deadlines, so he's not worried that I won't push myself to catch up. And so here I am, while Peter and Kara and Galdor are frolicking in the basement, slaving my Christmas break away with biology terms. DNA and RNA. I'm lovin' it. Sarcasm, anyone?

Here's the tag:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE:

tree: dogwood trees

book: 'Black as Night' at the moment.

food: Christmas bread.

day of the week: Friday

month of the year: May, September, October, November, December, June

number: I don't know.

color: all of them (as long as they're rich. I don't like pastels)

age: Fourteen?

class: Writing, music, history.

article of clothing: one of my blouses

type of shoe: my worn out clogs

instrument: piano, of course! And bagpipes

flower: I don't know.

language (not english): Elvish =)

thing to do in spare time: Write, play the piano, ponder deep matters

I tag: Anyone who loves bagpipes!

A shocker...

2010 is going! We're entering into a whole new year, the unknown. I'll be turning 15.

What. Did. I. Just. Say? Did I just say...fifteen?

Gulp.

Hugs and Blessings,

Izori

Crazy Eights (Tagged by Cornet Crazie) And Music!

8 books I've read recently:
An Usborne Introduction to the First World War. Yes, history, but I really like that book!
Anne of the Island, which I kind of liked.
The Castle of Llyr--I have read books that were a lot better.
The Hobbit (for the thousandth time) One of my favorites.
Habakkuk, from the Bible. I really like it. =)

Oh...that's all. I haven't been doing that much reading for fun at all lately.

8 Songs or Albums I listen to all the time (I pick songs):
Sarabande, by Handel (I play it)
Brave, by Nichole Nordeman
City on our Knees, by Toby Mac
uh...mostly I just turn on our local Christian radio station and listen to random music...

8 Things I love:
music
writing
reading
animals
school
"Hogan's Heroes"!!
LotR
Jesus Christ

8 Things I've learned this year:
How to accompany ballerinas
that high school is really crazy
that I really miss my old piano teacher (she retired =(
that I suffer from severe writer's block
Clue #2: Find a blog with a picture of tons of balloons!
how to be a historical interpreter
that I really have some areas I need to work on
that I have carpal tunnel syndrome
crazy is not an insult

8 new recipes I want to try and make by the end of the year:
pickle ice cream re-try
cheesecake
sweet potato souffle
uh...I'm blanking out

8 Favorite online hangouts:
blogger
miniclip
lolcats
uh...

8 Projects I need to work on:
eight? How 'bout a million!? Actually, I can't remember any right now.

8 people I think should do this tag:
igirl
Olive Tree
Hannah Marie
Bekah
Vellvin
Ivorydancer
Milisande Awnia Grim
Guinevere

Now for my music...

My old teacher, who I've raved about on this blog a couple times, retired. =( She's working with my accompaniment class though, so I'll still see her at least once a month. So now I have a new teacher, and I'm starting up voice! I really like my new teacher. Depending whether or not she comes up on this blog often, I think I'll refer to her as Miss Kat. She's pretty different from my old teacher, though. My old teacher was dynamic and really spunky (and short) and this one is more of a calm, gentle person. She's really awesome.

But anyway, because I'm doing piano and voice, I'll be really pressed for time, so if you hardly see much of me anymore, it's because I'm busy. =)

Awards! And random stuff! Oh joy!

Much thanks to Anna, for awarding me this! I have no clue why this is underlined, so I hope y'all don't mind.

The Prolific blog award goes to bloggers who blogs consistently. Once you get it you have to give it to 7 other people.

I award: uh...oh man. I'm going completely blank. Okay, if you blog at least once a week regularly, go ahead and take this!

The Beyond Your Imagination Award

1. List 8 stories or books that you would like to live in (for two weeks?)

1. Lord of the Rings (duh!)
2. And Then There Were None, although I'd probably be dead. =)
3. The Chronicles of Narnia
4. Healing, the working title for my book.
5. My NaNoWriMo book.
6. Peter Pan in Scarlet
7. The Hunter Brown Series (I think that's what it's called)
8. Star Wars

2. List 8 other bloggers who deserve this award
Uh..well, I've already done this tag at least once, maybe twice, so whoever wants can take it!

3. Comment on their blog and tell them that they've been awarded
You normal people can follow that one...

I cut my finger pretty badly while washing windows. Interesting story there. I was scrubbing really fast, and I jammed my finger into a very hard, sharp part of the window. Hard to do. Very hard. But for an accomplished klutz, it was a piece of cake! Reminds me of how I ripped the top of my toe off while playing street soccer on hot asphalt...ouchie. I still can't feel the very top of my big toe.

Anyway, my finger looks like it's been through a gory battle, and my head agrees. I've had a raging headache all this week. I was mystified as to the cause, and then I realized I forgot to take my weekly vitamin D pill. Problem solved!

Can't believe
it's July. Sniff. Farewell, sweet June! 6 months till January 1, 2011! Where does the time go? Ladies and gents, we'll never have a July 1, 2010 again. Ever again. Don't waste it.

I just started something very interesting. In a notebook that I have, I'm writing letters to my daughter! Letters of encouragement, like how to get out of a faith rut, and the joys (ha ha) of siblings. Advice that, when I actually have my own daughter, I probably won't be able to get into words. Oh great. Now I bet I'll have all sons when I'm married! =) I wouldn't mind. Although I would like one daughter, so I can name her Colleen. Y'see, both Dad and I love that name, but Mom absolutely hates it. Coincidentally, Dad really wanted me to be named Colleen. Instead, I was named...well...never mind what I'm named...but it's definitely not Colleen!

Sigh. I'm rambling. But I'm also very bored, and in pain from my finger. Why I'm typing, I have no idea. I do have a funny story, though.

Erestor (my bro) is known for well, loving kicking around a soccer ball in the basement instead of doing his summer school work. And I'm known for getting things done very, very fast. Earlier this morning, I had looked in the paper and seen that the Netherlands and Brazil were playing soccer.

So I, being the sister I am, finished all my chores and school at 9:30. Erestor, being the brother he is, played soccer until ten o'clock in the basement. Actually, he would have played longer, but I ran down the stairs, confiscated the ball, and told him that he was wasting time and that Netherlands and Brazil game was on and I wanted to watch it and I couldn't until...

Anyway. Erestor quickly did his Latin, math and chores, in mortal fear that he was missing an awesome soccer game. He finally emerged from the basement, to find me sitting on the couch reading Agatha Christie.

Turns out, soccer really wasn't on. I had assumed the paper meant today, when really they didn't say. It was actually tomorrow! Whoops! But guess what?

That made us finished with our work at 10:30! Ha ha. That was hilarious. Erestor sure was mad.

So, there's the whole shibang.

Goodbye! Galdor is intent on deleting this, so I'd better sign off.

Izori
