What is all this fuss that I hear on the news about when the decade begins/ends? A decade is 10 years, no? Let's see...2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009...that's 10 years! Count 'em yourself! It's settled then! This is my LAST POST OF THE DECADE!!

The thing is, though, you start counting with the year 1 - not 0 - so it's actually 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 - ten years. The decade's got another year yet!
